Here are some tips before you buy a microwave:
- Measure the space and determine what size or dimension you want to buy. If you’re a bachelor, try to save your money by buy small size microwave. You don’t need a 2.0 cu ft to heat a food.
- Pay an extra $100 – $200 to have a sensor cooking feature to make sure your food isn’t heating too long. By this you can also save your electricity bill. Most of compact microwave doesn’t have this feature.
- If you plan to cook a lot of food, find a microwave with higher watt. The higher watts, the faster your microwave cooks food. but experts say 100 to 200 watts more or less won’t make much of a difference.
- If you want a way to keep different courses of a meal warm until they are to be served, then look for keep warm feature
- Inverter technology is a technology that can cook food more evenly because it continuously give you power for the entire cooking time. If you cook with standard microwave, for example, at 60% power then the standard microwave will cook at 60% at the time and become idle for the rest of the time and this makes a cold spots in your food. Unlike standard microwave, inverter microwave gives you a steady 60% power for the rest of cooking time. Sometimes to have this inverter technology is not necessary moreover I found many reviewer said it won’t last long, sometimes only 1 or 2 years then it become a failure
- Microwave with convection mode will more expensive usually between $100 up to $200 higher price than standard microwave. And some users said microwave with convection oven doesn’t work well as a regular oven. It is more works like toaster oven to only brown and crisp the food
